solution that can be deployed for all critical machineries for different vessel types including LNG carriers, LPG carriers, Offshore vessels and other commercial vessels.
We are looking for a Maritime Digital Transformation enthusiast, forward looking marine engineering leader who can help enhance this application
and solve critical problems with his marine engineering expertise. This position requires an experienced Chief Engineer and hands-on individual with
a breadth of technical expertise and knowledge pertaining to the operation, monitoring, maintenance and repair of all major mechanical and engineered equipment onboard a ship.
This position is recognized as a subject matter expert and thought leader in mechanical/marine engineering,
with broad experience across multiple job areas. Works under consultative direction against annual goals to manage large,
complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. Communicates within and outside of the organization to
influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the
achievement of overall business or functional results. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization.
The candidate must be able to embrace the fast and dynamic environment of a growth stage company, comfortable with adjusting quickly to changing priorities.
Serve as the expert/technical advisor and supervise predictive maintenance software deployment
Expand the predictive maintenance software capabilities for existing and new machinery (purifier, steering gear, cargo equipment, cranes)
Perform FMEA/CBM engineering analysis on marine machinery including latest engines (Dual fuel engines, ME-Electronic) and other critical equipment
Augment and research solutions to remotely monitor equipment including sensor suites and check implementation feasibility within SMARTShip. (Ex: combustion analyzer, vibration sensors, Boiler sensors, exh gas particulates sensors)
Providing guidance to customers through product adoption, training, and development of best practices for predictive maintenance and reliability program
Liaise with Technical Account Managers, Product Managers and Data Science team to ensure product acceptance and value realization; assist with incident investigation and other ad hoc request/analysis
Drive customer support with periodic equipment performance reports, overhaul reports and other ad hoc customer requests
Provide validation to data models and algorithms pertaining to anomaly detection, smart notifications, equipment health and maintenance prediction
Support tasks outside of job description as needed
10+ years’ experience with equipment monitoring, major maintenance and breakdown of machinery systems (combustion engines, steam turbines, generators, and ancillaries)
Experience in the range of operating vessel equipment, various marine fuel type in current use and anticipated for future use
Experience working with major marine classification societies through certification and approval
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in interacting with Senior Leadership/Clients
Experience with IOT data, real time monitoring system and data analytics (preferred)
Working with complex data sets: 2 years (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree (Marine/Mechanical) required
MBA / master’s is a plus.
